Residential

The City of Hastings has a one-hauler system for residential recycling & trash collection. City code 50.07 requires that all residential property units 4 or less must use the City's current residential hauler. EffectiveTennis Recycling Cart January 1, 2013, the City's exclusive residential hauler is Tennis Sanitation.

  • All residents and commercial properties, including multifamily, in Dakota County must recycle a designated list of materials and all haulers serving Dakota County must accept these items.
  • If you are setting up service, experiencing service issues, or would like to adjust your level of service, please contact Tennis Sanitation directly at 651-459-1887. You can also visit the Tennis Sanitation Website.
  • Please place containers out the night before your collection day or by 6:00 a.m.
  • Collection takes place Monday-Saturday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.. Visit the Tennis Sanitation website for their yearly holiday hauling schedule, which may impact your collection day.
  • Containers should be within 2 ft of the curb and 3-4 ft. away from all objects, including other carts.
  • Tennis Sanitation takes all trash to the Recycling and Energy Center in Newport, MN to be incinerated and turned into energy.

 

Commercial & Multifamily Residential

If you own commercial property or residential property with more than four units, you may elect to have your solid waste collection from any of the City's licensed haulers.

Business owners can properly dispose of hazardous waste through Dakota County's Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) program. Visit their website for more information and to apply.

 

For those outside of Hastings city limits

Please contact your township's clerk for information about licensed haulers. If you live in a township within Dakota County, you may also contact a waste hauler for questions regarding recycling and disposal of yard waste, household hazardous waste, appliances, or other items.
