The Public Works Department is located at the Cal Ruedy Public Works Building at 1225 Progress Drive.  The department consists of two divisions: Public Works and Engineering.  Office hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Public Works
Public Works staff operate and care for the City’s infrastructure, including our streets, storm sewer, ponding basins, decorative street lighting, street signage and pavement markings, water system, wastewater system, and the City’s hydroelectric facility located at Lock and Dam #2.

Engineering
Engineering staff are responsible for designing and managing street and utility reconstruction projects, review of new development and redevelopment infrastructure project plans and construction, erosion control inspections, issuing permits for construction within the street right of way and easements, infrastructure mapping and record keeping.
