New Addition at Linear Park Complements Habitat Work
In November 2023, The Hastings Environmental Protectors group, the Arts & Culture Commission and the Parks and Recreation Department installed a dragonfly sculpture that was created by local artist Dale Lewis at the Vermillion Falls Linear Park. The project received funds through the City's Community Investment Fund and complements the extensive restoration work in the park, which was completed with the assistance of local groups including high school field biology students, HEP and other local volunteers. The project adds a nature-themed sculpture along the trail to add aesthetic appeal. Photos: Courtesy of Jeannie Tribe Photography
New Riverwalk Sculptures by Dale Lewis
The Hastings Arts and Culture Commission worked with Artist Dale Lewis and the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department to select and place three sculptures along the Hastings Riverwalk in November 2023. The pieces were chosen to represent some of the things Hastings is known for: biking, fishing and enjoying wildlife and nature along the river.
