The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) initiated spring load restrictions on Monday, February 26th, 2024 and these restrictions have officially ended as of Monday, March 18th, 2024.  Minnesota Statute 169.87 dictates that all loads on paved roads within the City of Hastings will be limited to 10 tons per axle during the Spring Load Restriction period unless otherwise posted.

The City of Hastings will place limits into effect at the same time as the MnDOT.   However, many roads within the City of Hastings were not constructed to handle 10 tons per axle.  Therefore, the City of Hastings requests that all loads on paved roads within the City of Hastings will be limited to 5 tons per axle during the Spring Load Restriction period, with exception to the roads listed in our announcement or on the map below.  10 tons per axle are acceptable on the roads indicated on these attachments.

Road restrictions typically last up to 8 weeks however the end date is largely weather dependent.  Please see the MnDOT website for more information on load limits, including when load restrictions end.
