How is My Bill Calculated?

A new rate structure for utility billing was approved by the City Council in January, 2022. This new structure ensures that a higher percentage of fixed costs are covered through the base rate charge so that our water and sewer system will be supported for years to come. Clean, safe water is essential to the safety of our residents and visitors. Below are a variety of examples to help you understand how your bill is calculated, with current 2024 rates.

  • Tier 2 Sample User (16,000 - 30,999)

High Use Sample

In this example, the sewer usage is based off of the amount of water this resident uses in the winter months (24,000 gallons) since the water used during this time of year is only what is essential to daily life. Therefore, their Sewer Usage charge is based off of 24 credits.
