  • The City offers three plans on two networks: $30 Copay, $1,500 HRA, and $3,200 HSA.
  • Single, Employee plus spouse, Employee plus child(ren), and Family coverage options are available.
    • For single coverage, the City pays 100% of the premium
    • For dependent coverage, the City pays 65% of the premium
    • For family coverage, the City pays 70% of the premium
  • For the high deductible plans, the City contributes to a VEBA or HSA.

Paid Time Off

  • Paid Family and Medical Leave: The City will provide 20 days of paid leave at 50% and employees will required to use accrued leave to supplement. Employee will be required to use all accrued leave available prior to taking an unpaid leave. Eligibility for City-paid leave follows FMLA guideline. The use of paid leave occurs simultaneously with FMLA and does not extend the length of FMLA leave. 

Retirement Benefits

Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA):

  • Membership in PERA is automatic for non-elected public employees who meet minimum salary and position eligibility requirements set by Minnesota statute.
  • For General Plan members (non-Police/Fire), the City contributes 7.5% of your total salary and you contribute 6.5% of your total salary. Learn more about the General Plan.
