Event Background

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world every year on June 21st. It began in 1982 in France. It is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. If interested in learning more visit the national organization website: https://www.makemusicday.org/

The Make Music Day Celebration in Hastings is coordinated by volunteer, Chuck Spavin & the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department. We will plan an informal, yet structured event to encourage attendees to enjoy performances at various local parks in Hastings.

Our hope is Make Music Day in Hastings will provide a sense of community pride and cohesiveness, to invite the community and visitors to enjoy outdoor park spaces, to create community connections and to be the largest Make Music Day Celebration in Minnesota.
