The City of Hastings Parks and Recreation Department is excited to offer snowshoes to be checked out for free thanks to the Dakota County SHIP Grant and DNR NCLI Grant.
Snowshoe Rental Information
- Snowshoe rentals are recommended for those over age 5 and up to 250lbs
- YOUTH size snowshoes are best for those up to 125lbs and footwear sizes 1 to 7
- ADULT size snowshoes are best for those up to 250lbs and footwear sizes 5 to 15
- Trekking poles are available with adult rentals.
- Snowshoes are available on a first come first served basis. If you call or email to hold a pair(s) please return your completed rental form within two business days or we may need to move to the next person who expressed interest.
- Rentals are also available for your small groups (outdoor club, girl/boy scouts, team building, ect). Please contact us for availability.
- Snowshoe rental pickup is located at the Parks Office at 920 10th St W, Hastings, MN 55033
- Rentals must be made two business days in advance and weekend rentals must be confirmed by 12pm on Friday's.
Snowshoe Rental Rules & Guidelines
- There must be a minimum of 4" of snow.
- You must stay off of plowed or shoveled surfaces as well as concrete, asphalt and ice to avoid damaging snowshoes.
- Snowshoe rentals can be picked up any day/time of the week. We will have secure access during non-business hours.
- Weekend rental requests must be confirmed by 12pm on Friday for weekend pickup.
- Requests and pickup instructions will be will be confirmed via email.

Guided Snowshoe Programming
- Open to ages 5 and over - recommended for teens and adults
- Snowshoes included in program reservations
