The Hastings Police Department reminds residents, business and building owners who have a monitored alarm system to register their alarm system and annually renew their alarm permit per City Ordinance 95.06

New Alarm Registration

For NEW alarm permit registrations, please complete and return an Alarm Permit Application within thirty (30) days of your new alarm system becoming operational.

New alarm permits issued on or after July 1 of any year shall be valid for the remainder of the current year plus the following year and shall expire on December 31 of the following year.

There is no cost to register your alarm.

Alarm Renewal

To renew your alarm registration, please complete and return an Alarm Permit Renewal Application at least thirty (30) days before your existing alarm permit expires.

Permits expire December 31st annually.

There is no cost to renew your alarm registration.

Unregistered Alarms

False Alarm Fee Assessment

In addition to an Unregistered Alarm Late Fee assessment (when applicable), alarms system users will be assessed the following False Alarm call Fees:

1st False Alarm: No Charge

2nd False Alarm: No Charge

3rd False Alarm: $100.00

4th False Alarm: $200.00

5th and Subsequent False Alarm: $300.00

The Hastings Police Department will send alarm system users a courtesy notification upon responding to a false alarm.

Late Payment Fees and Convenience Fees

Credit/Debit Card Fees

All credit/debit card payments will be assessed a 2.95% + $0.50 convenience fee.

Late Fees

Payment must be received on or before the due date to avoid late fees. Postmarked dates are not used. Bills incur a late fee if not paid on the due date. A 10 percent late fee on the outstanding bill amount is assessed after the due date, or on the next business day if the due date falls on the weekend.
