City of Hastings Building Department Fee Schedule

To simplify the process, steps to obtain a permit are listed below.

1. Talk to the Department of Building Safety if you have questions about your project.                       

2. Submit the applicable permit application and required submittals.                                                     

3. Permit application is reviewed by the Department of Building Safety.

4. Applicant makes payment for permit required.                                       

5. Permit is issued by the Department of Building Safety.

6. Applicant contacts the Department of Building Safety to schedule inspections.                                 

7. Final project inspection approval and closure of permit by Department of Building Safety.

The fees charged for the building and zoning permits are used to defray the cost of the inspection and code enforcement.

On-line Permits:

The City of Hastings offers the ability to apply on line for some basic permits through our Permit Portal.  

You can also email permits anytime to building@hastingsmn.gov or fax them to 651-437-7082.

Permits will not be issued until approved by the Hastings Building Department.
